The Mountain Travel Research Program (MTRiP):
- Is in business to provide more/better market data and business intelligence to tourism-dependent businesses in the North American mountain travel industry.
- Has, since its launch in 2004, successfully established a common set of reporting metrics, a syndicated group of reports, and now serves a majority of the major mountain destinations (and their member businesses) in the western United States and Canada, from its offices and web-server in Denver, Colorado.
- Offers a comprehensive, industry-wide research initiative, created for travel marketing and management executives of tourism-dependent businesses in mountain resorts and public sector organizations such as Chambers of Commerce and tourism bureaus.
- Includes a unique, forward-looking set of resort-wide occupancy and revenue reports that allow assessment of future business, while action is still practical. MTRiP also offers comparative reports to the previous year's data and a competitive assessment of other related businesses
- Is made relevant, usable, and affordable due to a collaborative approach, common set of reporting metrics, and comprehensive set of standard research reports.
MTRiP was founded by Ralf Garrison, in 2004 as part of Advisory Group Inc a destination travel marketing services company that also owns/operates the Mountain Travel Symposium, Mountain Travel Network, Central Reservations Association, supported by the Group's consulting services.
