Comprehensive Market Intelligence
For the Destination Mountain Travel Industry

In today's tumultuous and competitive marketplace, information-based decision making is crucial to success and accountability is a mandate. The Mountain Travel Research Program (MTRiP) offers comprehensive, industry-wide research, created specifically for those management and marketing professionals who must make informed decisions.

MTRiP's family of research tools is based on a unique, industry-wide cooperative network of participating lodging properties, which report current and advanced reservation data via MTRIP's web portal, whereupon data is aggregated and a series of reports is generated. MTRIP's standardized industry metrics feature unique, forward-looking indicators and have become a vital tool for tracking major economic, business and consumer trends. MTRiP tracks advance reservation occupancy and revenue so businesses can compare their performance to historical and competitive data sets at the property-specific level, as part of an aggregate in a resort-wide view and when viewed all together in an industry-wide view.

A complete MTRiP package is based on a basic set of reservation activity reports, and usually includes industry and market news and indicators, which, together, provide virtually all the market intelligence needed to stay competitive in today's constantly changing market. MTRiP data is packaged and presented in a format that is easy to read, understand and apply - a common feature of all MTRiP products.

Here's how it works:

MTRiP products and services are available individually or in a variety of configurations. Subscriptions can be adapted for individual and small business applications as well as for comprehensive community and corporate research initiatives.

Here’s how it works:
  • Property subscribers submit their current and future reservation activity based on established metrics including available rooms, occupancy and ADR
  • Reported data is aggregated at MTRiP’s data center via the secure web portal at www.mtrip.org
  • Standard reports are produced and posted for subscriber access
  • “Resort Hubs” have been established in a growing number of destinations where sufficient property participation allows for aggregation into a resort view. Resulting reports include reservation activity and daily occupancy when sufficient data exists
  • Optional resort comparison, customized competitive set evaluations and custom analysis are available a-la-carte
  • Multi-Destination-Wide reports are created from the further aggregation of all participating destination hub subscribers.
  • Custom reports, executive summaries and expert interpretation allow for further use of the MTRiP data set.
  • News, Travel and Economic Indicators and other indicative data are assembled and posted into the Market Monitor accessible to subscribers through the Economic Dashboard on the web portal
  • All individual data is kept strictly confidential and depicted only when aggregated with other comparable le data and becomes indistinguishable as a result

The combination of this collective approach, standardized metrics, advance forecasting and competitive assessment has resulted in a comprehensive package of market intelligence that is not available elsewhere. The related economics of scale and corresponding efficiencies make MTRiP affordable, particularly when a resort destination works together on a cooperative program that establishes an MTRiP destination "Hub."
